  • We do not require vaccination, however, most of the volunteer opportunities we coordinate do require proof of vaccine and booster. All Steinbruck Center guests are expected to follow the guidelines set for our congregation by the church council.

  • The Steinbruck Center hostel is available to groups traveling to DC for education, service, justice, and activism: school trips, youth groups, college service learning/alternative breaks, conferences/gatherings, and protest/justice organizations.

  • Groups do not have to be faith-based in order to stay at or participate in Steinbruck Center programming. There are no required faith-based components.

  • No; we often offer housing to groups who are looking for a low-cost option in Washington, DC. However, we do give preference to groups engaging in our service-learning programming and only accept reservations from groups that come to Washington, D.C. to participate in activities that align with The Steinbruck Center’s mission.

  • Your payment covers your access to the hostel: bunks, bathrooms, showers, kitchen, dining room, and meeting/reflection space. WiFi access and lockers (guests are responsible for bringing a lock) are available.

  • We recommend bringing a towel/wash cloth, clothes suitable for length of trip, comfortable walking shoes, flip flops/shower shoes, a reusable water bottle, toiletries, $10-15/person for public transit, and a lock for locker (if desired).

  • We do not offer parking. Groups may use our spots as a loading zone, but must find another overnight option. SpotHero identifies discounted spots in the area.
